Our Story

Mr and Mrs Romano, founders of 52 Degree Foundation

The Foundation began with a family’s experience of receiving support when it mattered most.

In 2004, the Romano family experienced an extended period of hospital care for their daughter. During that time they saw, at close range, the difference made by medical teams, charitable organisations and community support.

That experience created a lasting commitment to helping other families.

For many years the family and associated businesses supported charitable organisations and community initiatives through sponsorship, fundraising and direct giving.

52 Degree Foundation Limited was later established to place that commitment within a formal charitable structure with defined programmes, governance and accountability.

The Foundation became registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission in 2025.

From giving to structure.

The Foundation’s next chapter is focused on developing repeatable programmes, clear eligibility, responsible assessment and transparent reporting so that support can be delivered consistently and fairly.

Family Philanthropic History

Before the establishment of 52 Degree Foundation Limited, the Romano family and associated businesses supported a range of charitable organisations, fundraising events and community initiatives.

The organisations shown in this historical section are included to document that earlier philanthropic activity. Their inclusion does not imply a current partnership, endorsement or funding relationship with 52 Degree Foundation Limited unless expressly stated.
