Community Grants

We offer grants to schools and organisations in Victoria to support the purchase of equipment that enhances accessibility and promotes inclusivity within the community.

Who can apply?

You’re eligible to apply for a Community Grant if your school or organisation is based and operating in Victoria, is not a private school or business, and directly supports children under 18 in areas such as disability and/or chronic illness, financial hardship, or geographic isolation. If you’ve previously received a 52 Degree Foundation Community Grant, you’re welcome to apply again two years after the date on your original successful outcome letter.

What is eligible for application?

Applicants may request one or more items, provided each item directly benefits children in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined above.

Grant requests can include a wide range of items—such as resources like decodable readers and musical instruments, equipment like inclusive play structures and sensory rooms, or technology including iPads, smart boards, and hearing loops.

All requests must support the core goal of improving children’s wellbeing and educational experience, and should clearly align with this purpose.

What is not eligible for funding?

  • Expenses that have already been incurred or commenced prior to submitting an application or receiving written approval are not eligible for funding. necessary.
  • Incomplete application forms will not be considered for funding.
  • Equipment sourced from non-Australian distributors that cannot provide a direct invoice to 52 Degree Foundation, as well as services delivered outside of Australia, are not eligible for funding.
  • Capital works are not eligible.
  • Installation costs are not eligible.
  • Wages, training, and seminars are not eligible.
  • Research is not eligible.
  • Insurance, service, and maintenance costs are not eligible.
  • Programs are not eligible.

How does the process work?

Apply

Applications must be submitted online and meet eligibility criteria, including required documentation from the Individual Grant Guidelines.

Assessment Process

The Kids Support team reviews applications, and eligible ones are assessed by the Grants Committee before final approval by the 52 Degree Foundation Board.

Final Decision

Outcome letters are emailed within 10 weeks of the round closing. Successful applicants have 12 months to use their grant.

Grant applications are now open year-round and will be reviewed quarterly.
