Educational Scholarships

We support Victorian children with a medically diagnosed chronic illness or disability by helping fund the purchase of mobility equipment, communication devices, medical and assistance dogs, wigs, and essential medical or health equipment.

Who can apply?

To qualify for a 52 Degree Foundation Educational Scholarship, applicants must be residents of Victoria and between the ages of 5 and 17. Each applicant may receive only one scholarship within any 12-month period. Students must also be enrolled in full-time education, which can include primary or secondary school (Prep to Year 12), TAFE, or another recognised educational institution.

Applications can be submitted on a student’s behalf by a parent, carer, or a nominated support person such as a teacher, caseworker, or medical professional.

What is eligible for funding?

Primary School Students
Funding of up to $500 per child is available for educational supplies, including books, stationery, uniforms, camps, and excursions.

Secondary School / TAFE Students
Funding of up to $1000 per child is available for educational supplies, including books, stationery, uniforms, camps, and excursions.
Eligible students may also receive a laptop and case (approved models only).

Assistive Technology
Support of up to $1000 per child is available for assistive technology, including C-Pens, adaptive controllers, and accessible hardware or software.

What is not eligible for funding?

  • Educational fees
  • Non-invoicable items
  • Travel expenses

How does the process work?

Applications must be submitted online and meet eligibility criteria, including required documentation from the Individual Grant Guidelines.

Assessment Process

The Kids Support team reviews applications, and eligible ones are assessed by the Grants Committee before final approval by the 52 Degree Foundation.

Final Decision

Outcome letters are emailed within 10 weeks of the round closing. Successful applicants have 12 months to use their grant.

Grant applications are now open year-round and will be reviewed quarterly.
